Description: Stoney Creek Drive House situated in the heart of a beautiful ancient Kauri forest, native bush preserve, and natural wetland area. The butterfly roof design opens to North sunlight for passive solar gain, and seamless integration of roof solar panels. Site sensitive design prioritises low angled winter sunlight, avoiding mid-winter shading from large overhanging trees, allowing abundant seasonal sunlight to flood the house naturally heating the insulated concrete slab. The house will be constructed from SIP wall and roof panels, clad in Stria cement board for low maintenance, collects and stores over 30,000L of rainwater, and has a natural wormarator waste system.
