Description: South Road house is nestled in a Totora woodland on the banks of the Waianahu stream. Designed for a tight budget and even tighter section only 20 meters wide, it makes the most of it’s 52sqm footprint by going up a level to include a mezzanine floor for the master bedroom and ensuite with a generous dormer window. The house has a woodland theme with it’s board and batten cladding painted brown along with the roof and totora trunks inside as supporting posts for the stair landings. An opening window at the top of it’s apex for cross ventilation and extra insulation to keep the temperature up in winter. Between the two smaller bedrooms is a removable wall creating a flexible space. It has a natural wormarator waste system.
