NGUNGURU ROAD HOUSE, WHANGAREI, NEW ZEALAND

Programme: Family Home
Site area: 1200sqm, Built area: 340sqm
Status: Un-Built, Credit: Duncan Firth, Claire Furlong
Description: Ngunguru Road House is discretely tucked away off Ngunguru Road. Located on a gently sloping section, positioning takes advantage of large open outdoor spaces and allows the house to be pushed South achieving greater Northern sunlight exposure. The house sits along an East to West axis, the layout follows the seasonal sun paths and allows optimised passive solar gain during winter. The combination of roof shapes, eaves overhangs, and North facing windows allow ample sunlight to flood and naturally warm all rooms.
